Church Family News
Happy 61st Birthday to Christ Church – on this day 1958, our church was consecrated
New jobs at Christ Church
Site Manager (5 hrs/week) - develop, manage, maintain our buildings and grounds combinable or not with Weekend cleaner (5 hrs) – especially carpeted areas
Children's minister (24 hrs/wk) – coordinate/develop children’s ministry/evangelism
More details for all new roles from our website.
1) How can we afford more people looking after the halls? In June, Dawn requested to reduce her hours from 20/week to 10/week so she could offer further support to her husband. Richard and Wardens (Andrew/Kay) agreed to this. The PCC therefore had 10 hours in the budget. After reviewing what was not working well in the new halls, these hours were allocated to Site Manager and Cleaner, so the changes are cost neutral.
2) How can we afford a Children’s Minister? Our Resourcing IG were encouraged by the small increase in giving over the summer and advised PCC that a half-time role could be afforded. A suitable Job Description was prepared, and we look forward to continuing Becky’s ministry.
3) Does that mean our general PCC finances are ok? Not necessarily ok, but better. Richard and the PCC were encouraged that the percentage of church households giving to the church had increased from 60% to 67% over the summer. It would be helpful for our 2020 budgeting to see that increase further. How to donate, see back page for details.
